Acerola is a small subtropical fruit that grows on a small thorny tree, or shrub, native to Central America and the Caribbean. It is also known as the Barbados cherry, and has been used for years for its medicinal properties. The acerola is a fruit rich in bioflavonoids, vitamins A and C, minerals and other nutrients.

Containing antioxidants, vitamin C (up to 65 times more than oranges) and 20 different types of bioflavonoids; it is used for the normal functioning of the immune system, reducing tiredness and fatigue, supporting the health of skin, gums, teeth and bones, increasing iron absorption and increasing blood circulation.

Acerola has been also used to improve psychological functions such as memory.

Directions For Use

Blend one or more teaspoons of acerola powder into smoothies, juices or yogurt. Add to dessert recipes and energy bars to give a nutritional boost and add a naturally sweet/sour flavour.
